Getting the saddle fit right is one of the most important things you can do for your horse — and one of the most commonly skipped. Most riders either guess, go by eye, or rely on someone else to tell them. The IGP Gullet Gauge takes the guesswork out of it completely.

Designed specifically for use with interchangeable gullet plate saddles, this tool measures the width of your horse's withers accurately and tells you exactly which gullet plate size you need — Narrow, Medium Narrow, Medium, Medium Wide, or Wide. No estimating, no trial and error, no unnecessary trips back to the saddler.

The gauge is constructed from quality leather with brass hardware and gold foil printed instructions directly on the surface. Everything you need to take an accurate measurement is right there in your hand — no separate instruction sheet to lose, no app to open. The colour-coded gullet size indicator on the top panel lines up with the correct size for your horse as soon as you position the gauge correctly on the withers.

Using it takes about two minutes once you have done it once. Place the wither contact areas on either side of the withers, position it correctly behind the scapula, and read the indicator. That is genuinely all there is to it.
